Meet Our Staff
Darron deBoer
Position:
NRL22 Advisor
Location:
Kansas City, KS
Shooting Background:
Darron was introduced to competitive shooting in 2007 while in college by his graduate school office mate and fellow jokester, USMCR Service Rifle Team member Nick Patch. After shooting a few “sniper” style centerfire matches together, the dynamic duo had to break up due to (finally) completing our thesis, graduating, finding jobs, starting families, and all the other expectations of life.
In 2019, Nick reached out again and mentioned that he had heard of a new league, the NRL22. The two best friends were set to reunite!! Darron immediately purchased a used rimfire rifle, a clearance scope, the worst bipod he could find on eBay, and registered for the Free State Precision Plinkers NRL22 match. But the joy was short lived as Nick took a job out of state and moved away, abandoning his friend and breaking his heart before they could shoot the match together. In an effort to overcome his immense grief, Darron forged ahead and shot the match, finished 3rd (complete beginners luck) and was immediately hooked. Over time, Darron volunteered with the FSPP club as much as possible, setting up targets, writing bonus stages, and generally annoying as many people as possible into attending the matches. Eventually the Match Director bestowed upon Darron the title of “Assistant Match Director” (or is it “Assistant to the Match Director?), where he continues to serve the club and make silly Facebook posts. In 2023, Darron joined the NRL22 Advisor Team where he assists in reviewing rules updates and monthly courses of fire. Darron is also a member of the Bergara Competition Team and Athlon Optics Competition Team.
